This is a bit of a change from the bigger challenges of the Alps and beyond. Many members will have visited the Lake District and this talk is about climbing the 214 Wainwright tops there, without use of a car, instead relying on public transport and old-fashioned human power. AC member Ron Kenyon achieved his carless ascents in 2023 and has recently published a book, Wainwrights Without a Car, which lays out his experience and offers advice to others. You can learn more about the project, and the book, via Ron's website: Jagged Lakes. 

The talk will be held at the Alpine Club's premises at 55 Charlotte Road, London, EC2A 3QF from 7PM on 14 October 2025.
