Tom Livingstone charts a progression from the sea cliffs of the UK, to climbing a nearly 8,000 metre mountain in alpine style: the culmination of a 10-year dream. 

All are welcome to attend and the talk is free for AC and Eagle Ski Club members and students on production of a valid NUS card. Non-members are asked to make a donation of £5 to the Montane Alpine Club Climbing Fund.

From the main entrance on Queens' Road, next Bristol Museum, a UBES student will meet you from 7pm, walk past the porters' lodge on left, to the Department of Earth Sciences. Turn right on entering the Department and follow the corridor until reaching 3.31 Coutts Lecture Theatre on left.

Doors open at 7pm, Lecture starts at 7.30pm; ends at 9pm
