The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857. For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.
With membership, experienced and aspiring alpinists benefit from a varied meets programme, regional lectures with notable guest speakers, reduced rates at many alpine huts, opportunity to apply for grants to support expeditions, significant discounts at many UK retailers, extensive networking contacts, access to the AC Library and maps - and more!
Becoming a MemberSimon Richardson's climbing career has been defined by the search for the new. As a Scottish winter climber and the operator of 'Scottish Winter', a blog detailing first winter ascents, he is immersed in the culture of new routing. But his sights are not limited to his native Scotland and he has achieved notable first ascents throughout the globe, often in areas and on peaks previously considered to be "climbed out".
The talk will be held at the Alpine Club's premises at 55 Charlotte Road, London, EC2A 3QF from 7PM on 24 October 2023.
For safety reasons, we are required to keep a register of all attendees. If you plan to attend, please complete the form below. (This applies to both members and non-members).
There is no official charge for entry, but we do ask non-members to make a small contribution towards the continued running of the lectures if they are able.
