The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857. For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.
With membership, experienced and aspiring alpinists benefit from a varied meets programme, regional lectures with notable guest speakers, reduced rates at many alpine huts, opportunity to apply for grants to support expeditions, significant discounts at many UK retailers, extensive networking contacts, access to the AC Library and maps - and more!

Camping Mulina http://www.campingbregaglia.ch/en/camping-vicosoprano
Vicosoprano is located in the heart of the Bregaglia and is only 10km from the Italian border and 20km from Chiavenna where cheaper shopping opportunities exist than in Switzerland, large supermarkets rather than the small local shops in the village.
Regarding Alpine climbing the main peaks in the Bregaglia are Piz Badile and Piz Cengalo but the Bernina Alps is only a 45km drive maximum, the famous peak being Piz Bernina itself with its equally famous Biancograt, Monte Disgrazia to the south is also accessible.
There are many possibilities for multipitch mountain rock routes mainly based at the Albigna (accessible by cable car), Sciora and Sasc Fura huts, for single pitch valley climbing there is more available in the Chiavenna area.
